About Philip Shlossman

An obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in maternal and fetal medicine, Philip Shlossman, MD, participates on numerous committees and associations and possesses a number of professional accolades. Serving as Vice President of the Delaware Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine of Christiana Care in Newark, Dr. Shlossman maintains licensure in the states of Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Philip Shlossman treats high-risk pregnancies resulting from a number of factors, including preterm labor, chronic illness, and pregnancies in patients over the age of 35.

Philip Shlossman, MD, is a member of the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and American Medical Association. In 2002, and again in 2007, Dr. Shlossman accepted the National Faculty Award from the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG). He received the Physician Ambassador for Nursing Excellence Award in 2007, the Golden Apple Award for Teaching in 2006, the Gold Award in 2001, and the Silver Award, in recognition of exceptional service in 2000, all from Christiana Care Health Services. In 1997, CREOG presented Dr. Shlossman with a National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education. He was awarded the National Excellence in Teaching Award, Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Medical Education Foundation in 1996. In 1990, he was awarded the Philip F. Williams Prize Paper Award, Second Place, ACOG District III.

Dr. Shlossman is Co-Associate Director of Christiana Care Health Services’ OB-GYN residency program, Associate Director of Christiana’s Division of Maternal and Fetal Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jefferson Medical College.

Dr. Shlossman earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Marine Fisheries at Texas A&M University, and a Doctor of Medicine from Texas A&M University. Refining his obstetrics and gynecology skills, Philip Shlossman, MD, served as a resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Christiana Care Health Services and was a Maternal and Fetal Medicine Fellow at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
